To come and enjoy a year in an extended family and to make new friendships along the way and to know they are welcome to come back and visit, as many of the past students do.
Heather Coquitt

We feel like you treat us like family and we miss you when you leave. Nearly all our students have been back every year to see us - one came this Thursday! Come and make new friends and experience a different way of life.
Julie Carter

This is our first year of having Norwegian students. My student was very polite and became a part of the family. We had a get together when she was 18 while staying with us, and we also had a party for the Queen’s birthday with friends and family. Hanne had some of her friends round and we all had a great day. I would say to anyone coming here to come with an open mind and enjoy the experience!
Mags Cartwright

Your are a part of my extended family and you will always have a special place in my heart.
Carole Holliday

"A rewarding experience"

Hosting Norwegian students has been a rewarding experience for our whole family. In the past five years we have learned about the Norwegian culture and language, without actually leaving home! Our children have benefited greatly and they have gained a broader perspective on the world, learning more about geography, communication and other cultures. Our family feels closer to each other through sharing our daily lives with our students. As a host family we have often connected with the parents of our students and they have visited us on their holidays! Living with a host family has helped our students to acclimatise to their new environment, in a safe family home and has given their parents peace of mind that their children were well cared for whilst they were in a foreign country.
We received great satisfaction from providing a safe and secure family environment for our students to live and learn. There is really no better reward than watching a young person grow, develop, improve their English and succeed in life. As a host family you can feel proud of the role you have played in helping students to reach their full potential. Being a host family is a very rewarding experience. We have made life-long relationships with our students and when they return home we feel we have friends in Norway. These are just a few great things about being a host family.
